TLA offers opportunities for educational enrichment
TLA offers four opportunities for educational enrichment – BabySignLanguage.com, Zoo-Phonics®, TLAFIT® and Language Immersion Spanish. Each program is designed for specific age groups, to ensure that your child is engaging in developmentally appropriate activities.
BabySignLanguage.com is a project for parents and adults teaching infants and toddlers early communications skills. BabySignLanguage.com believes that early communication sets the foundation for accelerated learning, reduced frustration, and a closer relationship between adult and child. The website and their printed resources contain baby sign language pieces designed around the pedagogical needs of infants and toddlers. The program was founded after the Mey Lau, Lila Retnasaba and Brooke Parker started teaching their own children to sign. They quickly realized the importance of helping young children begin to communicate and wanted to share the experience with as many people as they could.
Preschool and Pre-K Academy
The principle of Zoo-Phonics®,maximizes understanding, memory, utilization and transference to all areas of the reading, spelling and writing process in a playful and concrete manner. The Zoo-Phonics® Multisensory Language Arts Program is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts. Zoo-Phonics® is a curriculum.
Creating Positive Behavior
Challenging behavior is a learning opportunity
Any parent knows that young children may sometimes behave in a challenging way, through defiance, aggression, or hurtful words. This may be because they haven’t yet learned the social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills to express themselves in a more positive way.
At TLA, challenging behavior is a learning opportunity. In turn, we give teachers tools for Positive Behavior Support.
